NEH boys taken behind woodshed by Wolverines
BLAIRSBURG – The Northeast Hamilton boys’ basketball team shot just 22 percent from the field, and the Trojans were left in the dust before they even knew what hit them here last night.
West Bend-Mallard (7-5) stormed out to a 16-1 lead after one quarter and never looked back in a 55-16 thumping of the Trojans (4-8).
“We just don’t shoot the ball very well, and we’re all kind of embarrassed by this because nobody wants to be in this situation,” NEH head coach John Seiser said after his squad lost its sixth straight contest. “But I will say I thought the effort was good. The guys played hard.”
The Wolverines canned seven 3-point baskets in the game. Jordan Buhs had three, while the Zinnel twins – Jason and Jesse – combined for three more.
Jason Zinnel led all scorers with 15 points. His brother and Buhs added 13 each.
WB-M opted to double-team Trojan junior Logan Seiser and limited him to just three points. Noah Ronnfeldt led NEH with six.
“They came out and denied everything to Logan, which is a smart play on their part,” John Seiser said.
