Cynthia Huisman, 61, Ankeny
Cynthia, age 61, died on January 21 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center as a result of complications of chemotherapy. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 23 at First Baptist Church, 8250 NW 62nd Ave., Johnston. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 22 at the church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, Iowa.
Cindy Huisman was born on March 27, 1951 in Webster City, Iowa to Bill and Cleo Fisher. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1969. Cindy married Arvid Huisman on October 11, 1969. They lived in Sioux City and Creston before moving to Ankeny in 2000. She was an administrative assistant at DMACC in Ankeny since 2000.
She is survived by her husband, Arvid; son, Dirk of Ankeny; and daughter Dena of La Crosse, WI; sisters, Sue (Steve) Anderson of Webster City, and Sheila (Roger) Port of Franklin, TN; her mother-in-law, Harmina Huisman of Jewell; brothers – and sisters in -law, Gerald (Bev) Huisman and Paul( Carol Huisman both of Webster City, David (Cindy) Huisman of Britt, Shirley (Mike) Nelson of Blairsburg, and Trudy (Mike) Breen of Ocoee, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother in law, Laverne Greenfield.
