Workshop to assist potential business owners
A workshop for individuals interested in or just starting their own business will be held Saturday at City Hall in Webster City. The event is free and open to the public.
“Building a New Business In the 21st Century,” a program for present and potential owners of small businesses will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the City Council chambers, 400 Second St., Webster City. The program is being conducted by Webster City Economic Development, Hamilton County SEED, SCORE, Webster City Chamber of Commerce and the North Central Iowa Small Business Development Center.
Featured presenters will be Darcy Swon, inTANDEM Marketing; Mona Everson, Life and Health Care, Inc.; Jason Kroona, Kroona Law Firm; Cindy Schieber, North Central Iowa Small Business Development Center: Zona Graves, Webster City Federal Savings Bank; Catherine Bergman, Hamilton County SEED; and David Toyer, Webster City Economic Development. Topics will include tips on personal business success, marketing and promotion, local start-up success, accounting and legal aspects of starting a business, banking and financing.
Local SCORE representative Doug Getter said, “This is a great opportunity for anyone thinking about establishing their own small business. Several attendees at the 2011 workshop have gone on to establish and build their own businesses.”
