Council to hold hearing on street plan

The City Council of Webster City will hold a public hearing concerning the 2013 street improvement project during its regular session Monday night at city hall.

The hearing will begin at 7:15 p.m. The agenda calls for the council to consider a resolution approving and confirming plans, specification and form of contract as well as the estimate of cost for the project. The contract for the project is also expected to be awarded.

The council members will review a request from the water plant/waste water plant director on improvements to the water plant chlorine room.

Proposed fees for the 2013, 2014 and 2015 will be considered. A proposed ordinance amending the city code of ordinances pertaining to fees will be up for a first reading by the council.

Council members will discuss two resolutions concerning loan agreements with Webster City Daycare and Riverview Early Childhood Center, and will review an agreement with Iowa Central Community College for the use of Fuller Hall and the outdoor swimming pool.

Two closed sessions are planned for Monday night following the other items of business.

The first session will be to discuss strategy with legal counsel in matters that are presently in litigation or where litigation may be imminent. The second closed session is to discuss the purchase of real estate.
