Summer events on agenda

The City Council of Webster City will face only a few items of business when it meets in the first session for April Monday night.

A request from the Chamber of Commerce to close off Second Street from Superior to Prospect streets on three Friday nights during the summer will be considered. The Chamber plans to hold a special promotion – Summer Nights – on June 14, July 5 and Aug. 9. According to Chamber Director Deb Brown, the events will include food, music, stores will be open later, and capping off the evening will be free movies in the park.

The council will also review resolution authorizing the mayor and city clerk to execute a modification and amendment of the real estate contract agreement with Webster City Daycare.

The second readings of two proposed ordinances pertaining to city fees will be up for a vote Monday night. Council members will consider a proposal to create a Superior Street sidewalk/trail project.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall.
