ULLESTAD SHOOTS UNDER PAR, HAWK GOLFERS WIN EASILY: Trevor Ullestad birdied two of the three par-5s on his way to a round in the red at the Jewell Golf and Country Club yesterday afternoon.
The South Hamilton junior shot a 1-under 35 on the strength of the two birdies and six pars to claim the medalist honor by five shots over teammate Jordan Bowers (40).
The Hawks carded a 162 to easily top Heart of Iowa Conference foe Collins-Maxwell-Baxter (220) by 58 strokes.
Braxton Risetter (43) and Jacob Haugland (44) finished off the scoring for the Hawks.
“I was happy with Trevor’s round and Jordan played pretty well,” South Hamilton head coach Mark Ullestad said. “The other guys struggled a little bit; I don’t know if the focus was quite there (yesterday).”
Jason Huntrods led CMB with a 51.
South Hamilton will travel to Story City to face Roland-Story on Thursday.
SH GIRLS 3rd, BUTLER 4th INDIVIDUALLY AT GOLF TOURNEY: Brittany Butler placed in the top five and the South Hamilton girls’ golf team finished third at yesterday’s West Marshall Invitational at Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center.
