DF-J adds new Android app
For generations The Daily Freeman-Journal has provided a comprehensive daily report of happenings in north central Iowa.
In October 2012, The Daily Freeman-Journal launched an Apple OS application and is please to announce that the Android application is now available.
The app joins the printed newspaper and wwwfreemanjournal.net as ways readers can get their news. All three are unique products, providing both news and special features that are unique to the media.
Content to the main site, the mobile site, located at mobile.freemanjournal.net, and to the new app is updated daily. The Android app also notifies you when breaking news has been posted.
Visiting The Daily Freeman-Journal website with any device running the Android system will trigger a screen urging readers to download the app. Visitors also can search for “The Freeman-Journal” in the Google play store. In addition, they can visit www.freemanjourna.net/android and be redirected to the correct site. With the app, readers can read stories, write comments, search and take polls. You are also able to see the current garage sale listings and map directions to them with the “Map It” feature.
“We are please to extend the reach of our award-winning and trusted newspaper to our readers who have long depended on us to let them know what is happening in their community, said General Manager Terry Christensen. “The addition of the Android app gives us yet another way to serve our readers.”
