Falcons too much for WCHS boys’ tennis, claim 9-0 victory
WEBSTER CITY – Webster City boys’ tennis coach Matt Manson was satisfied with the play of many of his players yesterday at the WCHS courts.
Unfortunately, the effort didn’t show in the results.
Aplington-Parkersburg cruised in both singles and doubles to a 9-0 shutout victory over the Lynx on a brisk afternoon.
“We played much better than the score indicated,” Manson said. “We are getting better, but we need to play more consistently.”
The Falcons won four of the six singles matches 10-0 and dropped just four games in all. Lynx No. 2 player Chris Pergande found the most success; he fell to Kollin Cuvelier, 10-3.
WCHS will spend the rest of the week practicing in preparation for meets against Hampton-Dumont, Ballard and Fort Dodge St. Edmond next week.
