Hiring is topic for next session

The Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes Kris Pruismann, Manager for Human Resources and Training for Facilities Planning and Management at Iowa State University, on May 8 as she presents the ‘From How to Wow’ educational luncheon, “Hire’em Right Toolbox”.

Pruismann will share information and tips on the employee hiring process including how to pre-screen with advertisements, using the right application, maximizing the interview, references and background checks and orientating new employees as well as answer questions from luncheon attendees.

Prusimann has more than 20 years of experience in the Human Resources, Training, and Safety Professions. Her experience has been in both public and private sector business, which includes working with a unionized workforce. Pruismann has worked in her current position with Facilities Planning and Management at Iowa State University for over 12 years. She is responsible for managing and directing all aspects of the department’s employment and labor relations, recruitment and hiring, performance management, training and development, oversight of work comp and safety, and serves as an FP&M Director.

In 2006, Pruismann received her Professional Human Resource Certification and is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management at both the state and national level.

The educational luncheon will be held in the Sampson Room at the Fuller Hall Recreation Center. Lunch and networking will begin at 11:30 am with the presentation to start around noon. Cost of the educational seminar is $15 for Chamber members and $20 for non-members.
