Rapp fans 14, collects 3 hits in Trojan win over ISC rival Tripoli

TRIPOLI – Gabe Rapp got the job done on the mound and at the plate here on Friday, as he helped propel the Northeast Hamilton baseball game to its second win in as many outings this season.

Rapp kept Tripoli guessing throughout the Iowa Star Conference contest, as he tossed a complete-game three-hitter in the Trojans’ 5-4 victory.

Rapp fanned 14 Panther batters and walked just three. Only two of Tripoli’s runs were earned.

“What can I say other than phenomenal,” NEH head coach Chace Pruismann said of Rapp’s performance. “He really came through for us.”

Rapp went 3-for-4 at the dish and drove in two runs with singles in the third and fifth innings.

Logan Seiser also roped three hits; NEH (2-0, 2-0 ISC) finished with eight off Tripoli hurlers Zach Buhrow and Tylor Seehase.

Andy Pate added an RBI single, and he also swiped three bases. Nick Jeffers went 1-for-2.

The Trojans will be at home today to take on Clarksville at 5 p.m.
