Music in park returns
STANHOPE – Area residents are invited to an evening of food and music in the Stanhope City Park as Wednesday Night in the Park returns for the summer season. The weekly event begins tonight and continues each Wednesday through July 24.
The food stand will begin serving at 6 p.m. Community groups, including the Stanhope Development, Boy Scout Troop No. 520, Stanhope Parish Church, Clear Lake Sailors 4-H Club, Stanhope Fire Department, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanhope EMS Department and the Stanhope Library Foundation will serve food.
Musical entertainment will begin at 6:30 p.m. This week, Irv and Dorothy Reutzel will be the featured performers. In the coming weeks, music will be provided by the White Fox Band, Ken Frette and Fred Coy, Ace and Friends, Dixie and Charlie, Ackley German Band, Fly Boys Polka Band and The Guys.
Wednesday Night in the Park is held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, activities will take place in the Stanhope Community Building. The weekly community gathering is a nonprofit activity sponsored by the Stanhope Development Group Inc. and funded by the Stanhope Centennial Committee. Wednesday Night in the Park has been a regular summer activity for more than 26 years, according to organizers.
