Trojans clipped in extra innings by ISC rival Dunkerton

BLAIRSBURG – Dunkerton overcame nine errors to beat Northeast Hamilton in an Iowa Star Conference baseball game here Friday evening.

The Red Raiders (2-4, 2-1 ISC) scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning, watched the Trojans (2-3, 2-2 ISC) tie the game at 7 with two runs in the bottom half of the frame, and then won it in the eighth, 8-7.

Mitch Cox ripped a double for Dunkerton in the eighth and eventually scored the winning run.

Gabe Rapp went the distance on the mound for NEH, which has lost three straight. He surrendered 16 hits and walked seven against five strikeouts.

“It was a tough loss for sure, but it was a good team we faced,” NEH head coach Chace Pruismann said.

NEH was limited to five hits by Red Raider pitchers Jason Bedard and Lane Johnson. Stephen Chamness had three of them – two singles and a double – and Rapp and Logan Seiser both added singles.

Seiser, Nick Jeffers and Hunter Dilley drove in runs.

The Trojans will be at home again today for an ISC clash with CAL at 5 p.m.
