Fair time is almost here
One week from tonight, crowds will be lining the downtown streets of Webster City, marking the return of the Hamilton County Fair with the parade through town.
The 96th Annual Hamilton County Fair in Webster City opens at 6 p.m. July 23 with the traditional Fair parade. Floats, vehicles, bicycles and other entries will go north from Elm and Prospect Streets to Second Street. From there the parade heads south on Superior then east on Bank Street to the Fairgrounds.
Entry deadline is Saturday. Entry forms are available at the Fair office or at www.hamiltoncountyfairia.com.
The Hamilton County Fair in Webster City begins its five-day run with a variety of entertainment, open class and commercial displays along with numerous livestock and small animals shows.
The only cost to enter the grounds is a $3 daily car parking charge. Fairgoers can purchase a week long car pass for $8 at the Fair Office.
Wednesday night brings the annual Fair Queen Coronation, this year featuring eight Hamilton County contestants.
Admission to grandstand activities Thursday through Sunday is $10 for ages 16 and up each evening.
A POP pass for all grandstand entertainment is available for $35, a savings of $5 on the adult four-night price, or $20 for ages 7 to 15.
There is no admission charge for individuals to the grounds.
