Seven to seek council seats

Jim Talbot, Webster City, is the latest resident to throw his hat into the ring in the race for City Council. City Clerk Karyl Bonjour said that Talbot filed his nomination papers Thursday at her office. Thursday at 5 p.m. marked the deadline for potential candidates to file their nomination petitions.

Talbot is now one of seven candidates for the three open council seats. Councilman Jerry Kloberdanz and Mayor Janet Adams chose not to seek another term. Councilwoman Linda Conaway is seeking re-election. Also running are Matt McKinney, Logan Welch, Heather Kierzek, John Hawkins, Mark Gillette and Talbot.

The race will be decided in the Nov. 5 general election.
