Meal raises funds for community and senior center

To the Editor:

To the citizens of Webster City:

Thank you for making the Webster City Community & Senior Center’s hot beef fundraiser a big success. We served 156 dinners and raised over $1,600 dollars.

It took the assistance of many individuals to make this happen, and their help is very much appreciated. We have a goal of doing one fundraising project each quarter, and our next project is bringing the Al Welsh Orchestra back to Webster City on Nov. 2. Single tickets are $10 each or you may purchase 11 tickets for $100.

There were far too many people to individually thank all those who so generously donated their time, pans of bars and potato peeling skills in order to make this a success. We are always looking for volunteers and helping hands for these events, so if you’d like to be involved, please contact Myra Maxon, Dick Lubbers or Linda Conaway to get your name on the list of volunteers.

We already have a few ideas on how we can make improvements for next time. Thank you again to all who participated in some way. Were it not for the kindness of those who came for dinner, none of this would have been possible.
