Ready for shoppers
Local merchants are getting ready for an influx of shoppers Thursday night as the annual Ladies Night Out is observed in Webster City.
“This is going to be a fun night,” said Deb Brown, Webster City Chamber of Commerce executive director. “We have lots of participants this year with lots of great promotions.”
The event, designed to be a fun night out for women, offers shopping, food specials at local restaurants and a chance to win prizes. Traditionally, the event draws not only local shoppers, but also attracts visitors from all over north central Iowa.
“We’re looking forward to many people coming to Webster City for this event,” Brown said.
Participating businesses include Carolyn’s Hallmark Shop, Osweiler’s Fashions, Classic Carpet and Interiors, Heart N’ Home, Gingerbread House, Gilbert Flooring, Gilbert Jewelers, R Company, Shanti Wellness Day Spa, Stony Creek Landscapes, Produce Station Pottery, El Paisita Mexican Family Restaurant No. 2, Second St. Emporium, Grid Iron Family Grill and Sports Lounge, Leon’s Pizza, Chuong Garden and Whoop-Ti-Dos and La-Ti-Dahs. At 600 Second St., Popsy Turvey will have cupcakes. Tastefully Simple, Scentsy and Avon representatives will also be in the building.
At the InTandem Workspace, 501 Bank St., there will be coffee and treats available and several home-based businesses will be featured. 31 Bags will have merchandise for sale and Super 8 Motel will be serving cinnamon rolls there. Pampered Chef will be represented at the Second St. Emporium.
Each business has in store specials and some have special treats or prizes. In addition, for every $20 shoppers spend, they will be entered in a drawing to win $100 in Chamber Bucks. Two winners will be selected. Those who bring their postcard or a coupon from the Daily Freeman-Journal, will be entered to win $50 in Chamber Bucks. Diners can also get in on a drawing by eating at one of the participating restaurants. Those who do will have a chance to win $50 in Chamber Bucks.
Maps of all the participating businesses are available at each store. Brown said shoppers can begin their excursion at any of the stores or restaurants.
