LYNX JV BOYS HOOPS WINS 2: The Webster City boys’ junior varsity basketball team enters the Christmas break with a 5-2 record following back-to-back wins over Fort Dodge St. Edmond (60-30) and Humboldt (46-39) last week.

Seth Crouthamel led the team in scoring in both games; he went off for 17 against the Gaels and dropped in 16 against the Wildcats.

Landon Daniels scored 14 against St. Edmond. Logan Yates joined Crouthamel with 16 versus Humboldt.

BIG DAY FOR LYNX JV WRESTLERS: The Webster City junior varsity wrestling team went 25-5 with 18 pins and won seven individual titles at Saturday’s West Central Valley Wildcat JV Invitational in Stuart.

Marshall Weber and Antrez Conley both decked three foes en route to gold. Gage Sadler, Ashton High and Riley Mishler all racked up a pair of falls and placed first.

Collin Oswald and Avery Haman also finished at the top of their brackets.

Silver medals went to Adam Peterson and Brandon Peck. Trey Nelson placed third.

MIDWEST RAMPAGE TRYOUT: The Midwest Rampage minor league football team will hold its one and only Open Invite Training Camp on Saturday, Jan. 11 from 1-2:30 p.m. at Webster City High School.

There is no cost to attend the event and it’s open to the public.

The camp is for new and returning players, as well as anyone else interested in playing for the Rampage in 2014. It will consist of installing the team’s offense, defense and special teams while giving players an opportunity to showcase their skills. At the conclusion of the camp there will be a short team meeting about the upcoming season.
