Chocolate is program for S.A.L.T.

Hamilton County Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (S.A.L.T.) will be held Thursday at the Southfield Apartments, 2414 S. Des Moines St. in Webster City.

Free blood pressure checks will be offered from 9 to 9:30 a.m. The S.A.L.T. meeting will then begin with treats and upcoming local events from each Hamilton County community. The “A Chocolate Affair” presented by Marilyn Middleton.

Topics will include the history of chocolate, some chocolate facts, interesting chocolate trivia and tasting. Middleton said, “Long ago, consuming chocolate was a symbol of prestige and nobility and was used in religious rituals.” Everyone is encouraged to attend for an entertaining and tasty program before Valentines’ Day.
