Ferrari scores 28, SEW-G lights up Trojets, 54-29
BURNSIDE – Jossie Ferrari drove to the bucket at scored at will for Southeast Webster-Grand here last night in a 54-29 non-conference girls’ basketball victory over Northeast Hamilton.
Ferrari set the nets ablaze with eight first-half field goals and she finished with 28 points before exiting the state early in the fourth quarter.
The Eagles (6-13) were never challenged, as they built a 12-3 lead after one quarter and 27-9 halftime edge.
Andi Anderson did all she could for the Trojets (0-16), as she netted 15 points. Lillian Chamness chipped in seven, Kaylee Massman netted four and Taylor Olson drained a 3-pointer.
The two teams will meet again in a Class 1A regional first-round contest next Thursday on the same court and NEH head coach Adam Vorrie says his team needs to figure out a way to contain Ferrari if it intends to compete.
“She does all that good stuff that you want your players to do,” Vorrie said of Ferrari. “We’ve got to figure out what our plan of attack will be to stop her.”
NEH will travel to Dunkerton tonight to take on the seventh-ranked (1A) Red Raiders.
