Seiser closes in on 1,000 points

BELMOND – A slew of 3-pointers and a balanced offense keyed Belmond-Klemme’s 66-40 non-conference boys’ basketball victory over Northeast Hamilton here Tuesday night.

Court Christianson splashed in six triples and scored 24 points and two other Broncos reached double figures. Korby Sander finished with 14 points and Elijah Kenseth added 12.

Belmond-Klemme (17-3) never went to the free throw line, but it was plenty successful from the field. The Broncos made eight 3s in all and bolted out to a 23-8 first quarter lead to put the game out of reach early.

Logan Seiser continued his season-long string of double-doubles for Northeast Hamilton (7-13); the senior forward went nine of 14 from the field and scored 23 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Nick Jeffers chipped in 10 points.

NEH will close out the regular season on Friday at Prairie Valley. Seiser heads into the finale and the Class 1A postseason needing just 16 points to reach 1,000 for his career.

Trojets drop regular season finale to Belmond-Klemme

BELMOND – The Northeast Hamilton girls’ basketball team closed out the regular season with a 48-23 loss to Belmond-Klemme here Tuesday night.

The Trojets (0-20) received a team-high 12 points from Andi Anderson. Leah Meyer and Kaylee Massman both pitched in four points.

Belmond-Klemme (7-13) outscored NEH 26-5 in the second and third periods to take control. The Broncos were led by Mackenzie Tenold (18 points) and Jackee Meyer (11).

NEH will open up Class 1A regional play on Thursday in Burnside against Southeast Webster-Grand. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
