SE Webster-Grand sends Trojets into offseason in 1A regional
BURNSIDE – A season’s worth of offensive inefficiency didn’t magically correct itself last night, as the Northeast Hamilton girls’ basketball team saw its season end here in a Class 1A Region 6 first-round contest.
Southeast Webster-Grand (8-14) jumped out to a 12-0 lead after one quarter and then outscored the Trojets (0-21) 27-6 in the second half to roll to a 53-16 victory.
Northeast Hamilton managed just six field goals and only Andi Anderson scored more than two points; she finished with six.
“We just need to get into the gym this summer and shoot,” NEH head coach Adam Vorrie said. “That’s really all I can say.”
Jossie Ferrari scored a game-high 18 points for the Eagles, while teammate Kierra Eldridge drained three 3-pointers and notched 11 points. Nicole Williams chipped in eight points.
Southeast Webster-Grand advanced to Tuesday’s quarterfinal round in Colo against fourth-ranked Colo-NESCO (20-1).
