WCCT to peruse classic musical ‘Guys and Dolls’

Webster City Community Theatre’s Readers’ Theater will take a step back in time Sunday to revisit the classic musical, “Guys and Dolls”. The reading starts at 4 p.m. at the Webster City Community Theatre, 1001 Willson Avenue.

“Guys and Dolls”, features a variety of 1940s and 1950s era New York City Broadway characters: gamblers, chorus girls, and the sidewalk missionaries who would save them from the depths of iniquity. Throw in a host of back alley denizens: shysters, con artists, gangsters, pickpockets, and ne’er-do-wells. It all adds up to classic Broadway theater, according to organizers.

The reading is a chance to preview WCCT’s summer show.?The production will be presented in July. Director Wil Grove said he’s looking for high school-age and older actors, singers and dancers for the production, but everyone is invited to attend the reading Sunday.

Bring a snack to share and your own beverage.

Grove will be directing this reading. For more information or for any questions, call Sue Heerema, at 832-6515.
