Seiser lands shot put gold, Trojans fifth in IF-A meet
IOWA FALLS – Wins by Logan Seiser and the 4×400-meter relay anchored a fifth-place finish for the Northeast Hamilton boys’ track team at yesterday’s Gerry Lenguadoro Cadet Relays.
The Trojans scored in eight events en route to 50 points – easily enough to stay ahead of Rockford (24) and CAL (7).
Woodward Academy stormed off with the team title rather convincingly with 158 points – a 42-point gap over runner-up South Hardin (116). Iowa Falls-Alden (109) and West Fork (85) followed.
Seiser clipped the shot put field with a best throw of 45 feet, 7 inches. He also ran the second leg on the winning 4×400 (3:45.02) that also featured Nick Jeffers, Kyle Pruismann and Tyler Smith.
Rapp, Seiser, Jeffers and Pruismann banded together to finish second behind Woodward Academy in the 1,600 medley relay (4:04.24).
Smith also placed fourth in the 100 (12.03) and 400 low hurdles (1:02.18), and fifth in the 400 (55.56). Jeffers took fourth in the 200 (25.38).
