Benefit for Ewing planned for May 10
A?benefit to raise funds to help offset the medical expenses for a Webster City woman battling cancer will be held May 10 at the Ed Prince Building on the Hamilton County Fairgrounds.
Jean Ewing was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma in October 2013. She has had surgery to remove a tumor and other cancerous cells as well as chemotherapy treatments. She is considered to be in remission now, but is also being treated for COPD. At the time of her diagnosis, she was preparing to change jobs.
The benefit will begin at 5 p.m. with a free will donation dinner featuring a potato bar. A silent auction will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. and there will be music and dancing throughout the evening.
