TENNIS: Marathon girls’ meet tips Lynx way

FORT DODGE – It took more than four exhausting hours, but the wait was worth it for the Webster City girls’ tennis team yesterday at the Dodger Courts.

Olivia Tasler and Ashley Richardson toughened up to take a tiebreaker 7-3 to give them an 11-10 doubles win and hand the Lynx the dual over Fort Dodge St. Edmond, 5-4.

The two teams split the six singles matches and were 1-1 in doubles until Tasler and Richardson put the final stamp on the contest.

“I’m happy with a win on a night that we definitely didn’t play our best,” WCHS head coach Heather Kierzek said.

Tasler was also a winner in singles, as were Lynne Chalfant and Sierra Anderson.

Chalfant and Courtney Lampman teamed up to earn a doubles win.

WCHS will be at home against Iowa Falls-Alden on Thursday.
