SH hires Howard as superintendent

At a brief special meeting Wednesday evening, members of the South Hamilton school board voted unanimously to offer a contract to Ken Howard, who was hired to be the district’s new superintendent.

Howard is currently the superintendent/elementary principal at Remsen Union Community Schools in Remsen, where he has been for eight years. Howard will begin his duties at South Hamilton on July 1. He replaces Tim Johnson, who resigned last month.

The board also approved Doug Hatch as boys baseball coach, Tyler Hatch to coach 7-8 baseball, and Tony Woodall to be the head girls basketball coach.

Also on Wednesday, the board held a public hearing on a budget amendment for FY 14. With no comments or objections, the budget amendment was approved.
