Deery Brothers, Hawkeye Dirt Tour scheduled for Tuesday races in Webster City
WEBSTER CITY – The Hamilton County Speedway will host a racing doubleheader on Tuesday, as the Deery Brothers Summer Series and Hawkeye Dirt Tour make their way to the local track.
The traveling IMCA Late Models will race for a $3,000 check to the winner and a minimum of $300 to start the main event. The feature for Modifieds is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier, paying $1,000 to win and a minimum of $150 to start.
Also on the card are Sport Mods running for $750 to win, and Hobby Stocks chasing a top check of $500.
Pit gates open at 5:30 p.m. The grandstand will open at 6 p.m., and hot laps are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Racing will follow at 7:30 p.m.
Spectator admission is $17 for adults and $6 for kids ages 7 to 15. Kids 6 and under will be admitted for free.
Pit passes are $30.
Davenport’s Brian Harris took the checkers at the Hamilton County Speedway a year ago on his way to winning the 2013 Deery championship. Jeff Aikey of Cedar Falls leads all drivers with six victories in the last 27 IMCA Late Model series events at the historic half-mile track.
The Hamilton County Speedway hosted a pair of Hawkeye Dirt Tour events in recent years. Jeremy Mills of Garner won the 2012 race, while Ryan Ruter of Kanawha took the checkers in 2013.
