Reeves Day is June 14; event set for Woolstock

WOOLSTOCK – The life of actor and humanitarian George Reeves, native son of Woolstock, will be celebrated June 14 at the Woolstock Community Hall.

This year marks Reeves’ 100th birthday.

The celebration will feature movies, matinee features and the Adventures of Superman, will be shown between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The event is free but all free will donations and merchandise sales will go to Woolstock City Parks for updated/new playground equipment.

George Reeves, starred in more than 50 films but is most known as the first movie and TV Superman. He died mysteriously 55 years ago on June 16, 1959 at the age of 45.
