Hawks’ duo first-team all-state; Lynx Fuhs on second team

WEBSTER CITY – Three area golfers landed on the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association’s all-state teams, which were announced on Friday.

South Hamilton seniors Trevor Ullestad and Braxton Risetter repeated as Class 2A first-team members. Webster City sophomore Avery Fuhs landed on the 3A second team.

Ullestad became the first South Hamilton boys’ golfer to win an individual state championship; he led the team to its first-ever state title.

Fuhs was one of the architect’s of Webster City’s run to its first state meet appearance in 11 years. The Lynx finished third.

All-tournament teams from the state meets were also announced. Ullestad, Risetter and classmate Jordan Bowers all made the 2A first team. Logan Yates, a WCHS junior, was a part of the 3A second team.
