ISC-leading Janesville takes care of Trojans in 4 innings
JANESVILLE – Iowa Star Conference North Division leader Janesville took another step towards the league championship Friday evening with a quick win over Northeast Hamilton.
The Trojans (5-6, 5-3 ISC) were unable to do any damage against Wildcats’ pitcher Hunter Meyer, and Janesville smacked 13 hits in a 15-0, four-inning victory.
“They’re No. 1 in the North Division for a reason. They play good, solid baseball,” NEH head coach Chace Pruismann said of the Wildcats.
Janesville (11-1, 9-0 ISC) broke the game open with an eight-run third inning and then put it away with four in the fourth.
Gabe Rapp took the loss on the bump. He went the distance and fanned three to go along with five walks.
Meyer allowed just one hit – a first-inning single off the bat of Kyle Pruismann – and fanned three.
