Ready, set, go

The 27th annual Webster City Firecracker 5K hosted over 200 participants from Hamilton County and beyond on Friday morning. Funds raised from entry fees will be used to support the Webster City Cross Country team.

Feysel Rahmeto, of Fort Dodge, was the overall male winner of the race with a time of 16:44. Tara Jackson, of Fort Dodge, was the overall female winner with a time of 19:36.

Participants who placed first through fifth in their respective gender and age categories were also recognized with trophies. First place winners in each category were:

Female 11 and under: Sophie Vanderpool, of Webster City, with a time of 26:20.

Female 12 to 14: Abby Landwehr, of Fort Dodge, with a time of 21:31.

Female 15 to 19: Samantha Larson, of Humboldt, with a time of 19:49.

Female 20 to 29: Breanne Keller, of Clarion, with a time of 24:54.

Female 30 to 39: Heidi Tesdahl, of Webster City, with a time of 24:47.

Female 40 to 49: Sharon Landwehr, of Fort Dodge, with a time of 22:31.

Female 50 to 59: Patty Croonquist, of Fort Dodge, with a time of 22:40.

Female 60 to 69: Cynthia Fallon, of Fort Dodge, with a time of 34:39.

Male 11 and under: Trey Shannon, of Webster City, with a time of 24:54.

Male 12 to 14: Carson Hartnett, of Webster City, with a time of 22:19.

Male 15 to 19: Alex Jackson, of Fort Dodge, with a time of 16:54.

Male 20 to 29: Dean Cronin, of Fort Dodge, with a time of 16:52.

Male 30 to 39: Jason Hamilton, of Fort Dodge, with a time of 18:10.

Male 40 to 49: Daniel Mattingly, of Boone, with a time of 19:34.

Male 50 to 59: Scott Winkel, of Des Moines, with a time of 20:45.

Male 60 to 69: Larry Olofson, of Boone, with a time of 24:05.

Male 70 and up: Arlo Van Diest, of Webster City, with a time of 30:15.
