LYNX JV SOFTBALL: The Webster City junior varsity softball team is 7-8-2 overall and 7-5-2 in the North Central Conference following a recent string of games.

Courtney Lampman drove in two runs in a 7-5 loss to Algona Bishop Garrigan on June 25.

Leah Meyer struck out 12 Hampton-Dumont batters in a 4-3 Lynx loss last Tuesday. Gabbi Hoversten cranked a solo home run; Meyer laced a single and double and drove in two runs.

Meyer had two more doubles and two RBIs in a 7-7 tie against Fort Dodge St. Edmond last Wednesday. Erin Bahrenfuss laced a single and double and had two RBIs. Lampman uncorked a single and triple and plated two runs.

WCHS got back on track with an 8-6 win over Iowa Falls-Alden last Thursday. Lampman and Hoversten both doubled. Rhianna Wood and Taylor Schnathorst both ripped RBI singles.

LYNX 7th GRADE SOFTBALL: Webster City beat Eagle Grove in Game 1, 4-3, and tied in Game 2, 12-12, last week to close out its seventh-grade softball season at 14-7-1.

Atlanta Hopp fanned six Eagle batters in the opener. Zoey Woodle and Kamry Dawson both had two hits; Dawson’s haul included a double.

Woodle, Dawson, Natalie Asklund, Clara Klein and Madi Schwering all had hits in Game 2. Woodle struck out five batters.

BRIGGS WOODS JUNIOR: Briggs Woods Golf Course in Webster City will host its annual Junior Tournament on Thursday.

The tournament will be split into different age groups for both boys and girls. It will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
