Sunday Best returns to Randall
RANDALL – Our Sunday Best returns again on Sunday to the Elim Lutheran Church in Randall, continuing a tradition that has lasted about 20 years.
The 2014 version will feature music by Alan Spohnheimer, followed by a chicken and sweet corn feed after the concert. Spohnheimer, of Ellsworth, will be performing on his trombone. Paul Hertz will also perform. Paul Wierson of Story City will be the master of ceremonies for the afternoon.
Marcy Osmundson of Story City, a member of the Randall Fine Arts Council, is enthusiastic about the projects the group takes on. “We do it because we like to show this talent that we have in this area,” she said of why the group is active with showcasing a variety of talent in several locations around the area.
“They need a place to play, and we have a place for them. Often they’re forgotten,” she goes on.
Members of the Randall Volunteer Fire Department are sponsoring the chicken and sweet corn supper after the concert at the Randall gym. Proceeds from the free-will offering will go to the department. Osmundson said “It’s always nice to do things that fit together.” A new fire station is going up in Randall.
Our Sunday Best starts at 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon the church. The chicken and sweet corn supper is served in the Randall gym from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
