Freedom Flickers

The May meeting of the Freedom Flickers 4-H Club was held on May 10 at Trinity Lutheran Church. The meeting was called to order by Olivia Young. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Alyssa Brockett. Roll call was “name your favorite movie” and was answered by eleven members. Megan Hughes read the minutes of the previous meeting. The treasurer’s report was given by Olivia Young.

Donations for 4-Hers for 4-H were collected. Members were reminded that presentations need to be done by the July meeting.

New 4-H tee shirts were ordered. Members signed up for fair activities.

The 4-H Pledge was led by McKenna Mitchell. Sarah Godfredsen gave a presentation about Greek Mythology. Treats were provided by Audri Whitehill.

The June meeting of the Freedom Flickers 4-H Club was held on June 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Olivia Young called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Taylor Mason. Roll call was “name an exhibit you plan to take to the fair” and was answered by ten members. Megan Hughes read the minutes of the previous meeting. The treasurer’s report was given by Taylor Mason.

Members signed up for Share the Fun, Fashion Revue, Pride of Iowa, Quiz Bowl, and Judge assistants.

Plans for the fair parade and fair booth were finalized.

McKenna Mitchell led the 4-H Pledge. Presentations were given by Audri Whitehill on “Three Things You’ll Need to Know About Taking Care of Rabbits”, and Taylor Mason on “Fitting Your Dog With a Gentle Leader.” Treats were provided by Sarah Godfredsen and her mom.

The July meeting of the Freedom Flickers 4-H Club was held on July 14 at Trinity Lutheran Church. The meeting was called to order by Olivia Young. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Clara Klein. Roll call was “what do you like best about the fair” and was answered by thirteen members and one guest. Madalyn Anderson read the minutes of the previous meeting. Taylor Mason gave the treasurer’s report.

Members were reminded about fair booth set up. It was decided that members are to wear their 4-H shirts to all meetings. Members signed up for election of officers that will be held at the September meeting.

Members were reminded that record books are due to the leaders by Sept. 1. Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian records are due to the Extension Office by Sept. 15.

Alyssa Brockett led the 4-H Pledge. Presentations were given by McKenna Mitchell on “Make Your Mark”, Clara Klein on “Building Your Own First Aid Kit”, Alyssa Brockett on “How to Use an EpiPen”, and Jordyn Sullivan on “Orange Julius”. Treats were provided by McKenna Mitchell and her mom.

Next meeting will be held at 9:30 am on Sept. 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church.
