Celebrating heritage in WC
Heritage Day returns to Webster City on Saturday. Festivities will be held at Wilson Brewer Park. All of the buildings at the park, including the depot museum, will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The day begins with a flea market which starts at 7 a.m. The cost of hosting a booth at the event is $10. Organizers said those interested can register the day of the event. The flea market invites people to sell crafts, garage sale items and other treasures.
At about 9:30 a.m., Peter Amstalden and friends will play music at the south cabin until 11:45 a.m..
A car and motorcycle show will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration for the show begins at 9 a.m. The show will not be judged. The first 50 people to register will receive a dash plaque.
Superman movies and George Reeves photo galleries will be available beginning at 9 a.m. and will continue through the day, according to organizers.
A local magician, Larry Dunbar, will be performing at 1 p.m. Heritage Hunters will be on hand to help visitors learn more about their family history. Games and activities for kids will also be available hosted by Iowa Kids network.
Coffee and rolls will be for sale in the morning. Local Boy Scouts will be selling lunch food. Kettle corn and cotton candy will also be for sale.
